Don't laugh .... but I've had a blinding revelation
To you punters it will be sooooo blindingly obvious of course. But not me.
It's that bias reinforcement is one of our (my) big dangers, a blind spot, when researching stocks and holding stock positions. In particular, I've noticed with my holdings that the relevant HC forums go crazy with positivism when sp rises and go quiet dead when they drop.
It's only natural human behaviour I guess. We rationalise our behaviour by seeking reinforcement and go into denial when reality doesn't support our chosen position - otherwise known as bias reinforcement.
We (the royal 'we') need to be ever so careful when researching and engaging on HC to identify our blind spots and biases, and intentionally seek out and encourage opposing and critical positions. Not just because it's a polite thing to do, or healthy, but because it will save us.
