The " broad sweeping statement " wasn't directed at any particular age group at all .
In a thread that's titled " raising retirement age to 70 " if anything , it's applicable to people my age and younger .
I'm become very interested in super etc recently as my retirement date approaches so I talk to a lot of people about it. I'm constantly amazed at the people around my age are still spending like crazy on stuff and consequently will have to work till 70 , whether they like it or not.
If anything , your age group is ideally placed to provide advice to younger people.
Making a general comment about choice is not tossing shit in my opinion , it's a opinion within a discussion .
