Unfortunately for Liberal supporters, the faceless business tycoons who determine Liberal policy are more powerful than Labor's faceless union bosses.
Unlike the Libs (who have no income diversification plan) Labor has diversified its income from being heavily reliant on union donations to also being reliant on property and Labor Club incomes.
This means Rudd can diversify Labor's power base away from unions while the Liberals are hostage to the whims of its business and fossil donors.
In return for fat campaign donations, Big Biz wants: Unions crushed, wages and conditions crushed and Fair Work Australia crushed.
If elected, Abbott will comply and disinter Work (No) Choices but to fool voters he'll call it a "Productivity Enhancement Plan" or a "Labour Market Reform Policy."
But the only one fooled will be Abbott. Voters know he's Howard disinterred.
