"Reaper11" is right to alert us to the perils of borrowing to speculate in house prices as that (plus inept governments)caused house prices to crash in Europe.
I'm heavily into Aussie rental places and listed Aussie property trusts, so I keep a keen eye on markets. But we have little debt and we get a good yield.
That is basically our weather cock: If prices have a big dip - we buy. If our yields plunge - we sell.
Otherwise we sit pat and wait. And pay off our small debts. Today, I paid off $1300. Tomorrow it'll be $1500. Life mooches on with no big debt worries.
