Bomber78 feels sorry for "real refugees who can't afford a 5k ticket to Australia."
There are no unreal refugees. They are all fleeing real dangers and real panic.
There are no Qantas or migration offices in the back-blocks of war-torn Iraq or Afganistan or Sri Lamka or Syria. All there is is man who knows man who (for a fat fee) can arrange passage to safety and a better life. Real refugees will go to any lengths to get to Australia - the land of sunshine and the Fair Go.
I see nothing bad in any of that. In 1865 my great grandparents boarded a tall ship - and they sailed away to the furtherest ends of the Earth: Australia.
