Many on here are creating the image of doom for Perth, well before you start sending food parcels and containers of old clothes, consider. The days of an 18 yr old getting a job driving a truck for $150k a year maybe over but their are still shortages of skilled workers. Doctors, nurses, lecturers and proffesions are still in demand. Recent estimates are we are short of 70 town planners and councils are years behind in some projects. Go down the street at night and have a look at what is going on, what is considered a slow down here would be considered a bonanza in places like Geelong or New Zealand. Do people seriously thing Perth will lose population or the rate of increase will slow. What about the housing market. First homebuyer grants have doubled from 2 years ago, shortage of properties under $500k means many are building. Cheaper to buy than rent in some areas is creating a mentality of buy now before the prices go up.
Cancel the food parcels but you could send cash to a poor property investor if you want. The address is boomtown W.A.
