Bendigo asks: "Why did you choose to almost exclusively discriminate against Australian workers when you built your extension?"
After having our Student Extension planned and approved (which took seven dreary months) we looked for a builder at Canberra's Master Builders Association (MBA) but the price per square metre was outrageously high. So we asked friends who had extensions done recently and they recommended a Vietnamese builder. We asked him for a quote and it was much more reasonable.
So he got the job and he employed a diverse crew of sub-contractors and workers as I described. He got the job done is five months and not a single fault has emerged in six years. Back when the job was done, he did such a good job in a timely fashion that we gave him a $2500 bonus and took him and his extended family to a fancy Canberra restaurant.
The MBA builders lost the job by trying to price-gouge us and play us for fools. The Vietnamese builder was honest with us.
But all was not plain sailing with the student extension: To see what I mean, go to: http://www.radiograham.info/dove
