Sure, Ford is still around. In your analogy (yours, not mine), Ford is like BP taking the idea and still being around down the track. The first car manufacturer isn't still around - that's AEB in your analogy. According to your own analogy, BP (or one of the oil giants which decides to invest in algae, should it be viable) is the one to invest in. I suppose that's another slice of irony. I don't think the analogy is especially relevant anyway.
