I like this PNG plan to a degree but wonder what it will actually cost Australia each year. I would hope, for example, that these fakes will be treated the same as any other PNG citizen for medical and dental care, and not receive red carpet health care from Australian medicos....That their food catering and accommodation is not overdone - but more commensurate with their new home...and in general they aren't made comfortable at considerable Australian taxpayer expense.
Re Nauru - what - the guards there don't have rubber bullets to put this sort of rabid madness down? However, I do like the people of Nauru showing some solidarity against these rioters - hope they got a few thumps in before it was quelled. The buildings will need repairs/replacement....Need a mechanism for the rioters to pay for it....reduced food, cigarettes, communications, etc...
