An election date was set by the Governor-General. The Labor Government is in Care-Taker mode.
Because Labor had a Cabinet reshuffle does not change it being in Care-Taker mode when no new laws or regulations can be made unilaterally as Parliament is in recess. MPs and Senators are busy in electorates campaigning.
BUT Rudd (without Parliament's scrutiny) has unilaterally introduced sweeping new measures (in Care-Taker mode) that have profound effects on many aspects of Australia's Domestic and International affairs like the Carbon and Fringe Benefits Tax and the most outrageous of all:
The re-colonisation of PNG for the purposes of converting it into a Penal Colony to where Convict Refugees will be permanently exiled.
We need an election (not rule by media stunts) and we need a referendum on Rudd's re-colonisation of PNG or we can kiss Democracy goodbye forever.
