I can't take the first post in this thread seriously.

Whilst I agree there is often vitriol from both sides I am afraid that the most prolific posters on the left side very rarely offer anything except vitriol.
This is done no doubt deliberately just to create a venomous response.

A few of these posters simply don't post any constructive comment. They simply post insults about politicians and attempt to belittle posters that support the coalition.

A number of these posters have been suspended (some permanently)for their vitriol and lack of substance.

To suggest that Labor could possible hold a high moral ground because of socialist and Fabian society roots is drawing a very long bow indeed.

Having been around for a dozen years or so on HC and been actively involved in the politics forum for quite a number I can definitely agree that there are more conservative members posting than labor however the content of the left has sadly deteriorated over the years.
Whilst Eagle was passionately left with most of his views he at least put up an argument to support those views and not just a headline or a simple post heading flame.

Perhaps the simple weight of numbers has taken its toll but it was a lot better a few years back when people debated the issues. (albeit rather passionately)

Mind you a few years before that when there was little censorship there was some real "interesting" threads when we had the likes of Atomu posting

I tried to get a bit of a fun wager thing going but couldn't get one Labor supporter to take odds of 4 to 1 with money going to the HC fighting fund.

I guess the labor posters on HC are really resigned to the fact that Tony Abbott will be the next PM
