Plenty of oilers have had successful drills in the last 6-12 months but I can't recall any direct comparisons where you have a microcap company involved in a successful 100MMbbl+ offshore drill.
The only one that springs to mind is CTR who are drilling onshore in Guatemala, and got a low flow rate in a fairly small field, so it doesn't really compare.
Unfortunately most of the offshore wells I know of have failed, like RIA who have had a really bad run and pretty much shot their bolt.
