Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step, and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it (Islam) has vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”
It may be worth noting that Churchill was accused of having a phobia about Nazis. Today, few would deny that there were substantial grounds for fearing Nazis. Given that a phobia is an irrational fear that has no grounds for that fear, calling Churchill's fear of Nazis is clearly not a phobia because he had real grounds for fearing Nazism.
Likewise I feel that Islamophobia is a nonsensical word because the reasons for fearing the spread of Islam is gaining traction daily as evidence mounts that we really do have something to fear. The fear has ceased to be irrational and can't be called a phobia.
