I think I wrote 1.5k ADSL. I got a 512k (ancient tech) connection.
Cable is unlimited speed (in theory). Big advantage with Cable is you don't need a landline to have access to Internet. ADSL connection requires you to have a homephone (I believe this to be a conspiracy to get people to have a landline, since ADSL is avaiable everywhere yet Cable is restricted).
With cable you can cut landline costs per month, connect cheaper than ADSL (if you get another provider than Telstra), and get VoIP to make phonecalls anyway for basically nothing.
