Exactly my point Acorn ... thank you.

Seamfiend, thanks for posting those before/after photos ... they are relevant and not "disengenuous" as TR suggests.

Wind farms extend 70-120m into the air. Because of the earth's curvature the horizon is typically 30-35km distant. Stick something 70-120m into the air and it would likely be visible over 50km or more imo.

In any country that seriously embraces wind (the central plateau of Spain being once example I have witnessed) does so with mutiple 1000's and 10's of 1000's of turbines ... all visible over distances of up to and beyond 50km.

A CSG well field is buried at the business end and visible as mostly ground line single story shed like structures not disssimilar in architectural terms to isoated farm sheds in muted green tones.

Don't get me wrong ... personally I love the look of wind turbines and wind farms ... they're surreal in form and function and are the closest we can come to "timeless" in energy producing infrastructure imo.

I see absolutely nothing wrong and much to gain from the balance of extensive baseload wind and CSG peaking powergen ... the cleanest, most reliable enegy mix for the foreseeable future imo.
