What a great listen that was - sounds like a good company to invest in...based on what PC said...so much opportunity...

...all this promise and yet now being in a position to be able to look back, we presumably all agree that Biota has not been commercially successful for its medium-long term shareholders over the last 5 years. Some canny holders might have done well towards the end of 2009 (at the height of the H1N1 pandemic), but apart from this, the only people who might have done okay over the years were Shorters and Day & Swing traders...

Relenza was reasonably successful, however, the rejected $100m GSK offer and subsequent $20m settlement, together with low royalties and ongoing marketing failure has left holders feeling shortchanged.

LANI is however free carried thanks to BARDA's clear interest, but the alternative - an earlier delay in moving it forward was at significant opportunity cost - a 2-3 year patent hole between Zanamivir going generic and LANI coming online.

    Vapendavir is now MIA.

All the other opportunities have pretty much stalled or fallen by the wayside and it has come down to what reminds me of a BlackJack 5 Card Charlie - we have turned 4 cards under 21 and are getting ready to flop (excuse my crude gambling parlance) our 5th card - we have been told by management that everything now really depends upon the success of LANI Phase II trial data due just after mid next year.

So next August really is a company make or break IMO.
