I know three or four people who had side effects that went away after they came off the statins. Statins do not prevent heart attacks in women at all, and only reduce the incidence in men who have already had an attack. BUT, they kill those men in other ways, as the overall mortality in that group is the same, whether they are statinated or not.
The only person I know who takes statins but had no side effects had a massive heart attack a couple of months ago, followed by a triple bypass. Arteries 80% to 90% clogged. He also exercised properly, careful with diet, non-smoker, low to moderate drinker and, of course, statins for several years.
