Windsor, farmers ‘delighted’ with coal seam gas laws

"NEW legislation to prevent the approval of coal seam gas and coal mining proposals that risk damaging water resources has cleared the final hurdle after being passed by the Senate on Wednesday.

The passage of the “water trigger” legislation has left the Member for New England, Tony Windsor, delighted and brings a successful conclusion to seven years of lobbying by him.

Nationals leader in the Senate and Opposition water spokesman Barnaby Joyce has also welcomed the passing of the legislation."
