Gaweb, do you recall 12 years ago, the so called mother of all battles that Saddam was promising turned out for him to be the mother of all defeats? Saddam is full of it and he knows it. This time around, it will be the same. In fact, I think his own people will take him out. If it were possible to get rid of him by simply bombing his palaces that would be great but unfortunately its not as simple as that.
I dont know if anyone else had a laugh this week when they were airing news reports on tv showing all these old men and women ( I am sure some looked like they were in their mid 70's ) armed with AK47's trying very hard to march in unison and supposedly trying to intimidate those that had plans of attacking Iraq
Having said all that, the number of civilian Iraqis that may be killed in the war ( and I hope that none are ) I am sure will be smaller than the number that are killed each year because of him, either directly by his orders or through other means such as the sanctions that he could have had lifted many years ago but refuses to do so becuase he wont comply with the UN. I guess it suits his agenda to see his people dying in their thousands. He isnt known as the butcher of bahgdad for his charm!
The Iraqi people will be much better without him, and the sooner it happens the better.
