I wouldn't try and ascertain too much from it. SI's get hit up and aren't given any insider info. It's not like the SP always goes up after a SI placement. The discount is what attracts them and 37% is quite high. If they had insider info they wouldn't have to offer them 37% discounts to take it up.
Not saying it never happens, especially to "mates" just that I know for a fact they don't ring you and say "Hey here's all this illegal insider info you could blackmail me with". They're certainly positive - they're trying to get money out of you!
Put it this way, if OBL win, I wouldn't assume they told the SI's anything.
