Actually I do. That doesn't mean we aren't moving forward, we are. But the advances are in spite of religion, not because of it.

Unfortunately there are plenty who do believe the Bible to be the inerrant word of god and that the bible is god's instruction manual. They're the ones holding us back. I don't think you're one of them. You sound suspiciously reasonable.....

Come along to the next World Atheist conference in Melbourne. Should be another in a year or two. I'll buy you a coffee. We could listen to the guest speakers. Then we break into focus groups where we plan the downfall of Xmas, find and sacrifice virgins (which is harder than you think in Melbourne), and at lunch time, they let us go outside and annoy the fundamentalist protestors. Fun for all the family.
