Had a few mates go through this over the years ( one is in the process right now ) and quite often it's a big change in many ways.
A couple of them left the country for the city and never came back.
One now lives os ( long story ) .
One of them has just bought a house with his new missus just around the corner .
You just never know how it's going to pan out sometimes .
That said , once you're back in the market , you're at least matching inflation . Also , regardless of what you buy , the equity is generally portable .
