Since this economic expansion bond yeilds have actually fallen, which is what they should do as people become more wealthy and stack the cash away.
Whats happening now is the yeild on bonds is less then that of the inflation rate and thus people lose money by investing in bonds.
If it where not for inflation bond yeilds would be falling.
