Bowral the bloodiest book in the bible by a country mile is revelations in the NT.

You could argue the OT rather meek and mild in comparison. this was one of the reasons Martin Luther detested revelations, he had some very unflattering commentary but in the end he still included it in his translated bible.

Revelations carries a. Special blessing to the reader or orator not found in other books of the bible.

There are numerous universal pastors that I enjoy immensely reading their works or sermons. One of the greats in this regards was George MacDonald, you find those with great compassion that struggle with hell and find solace in universalism. Personally I find this belief more palatable in a sense as one would or should not wish harm on others. But thankfully as a very corrupt and feeble minded sinner I will not be the judge in this regard, it will be the Holy Father.

human or more focused christian compassion for the sinful demonstrates the willingness of coexistence because of the terrible consequences of eternal damnation. This is probably a product of our existence in the fallen planet we live in. Our environment is surround by evil yet we have our lamp of hope and truth shining in the darkness. It is natural to lean toward universalism a hope for redemption for all the light shining to the darkest empty space The holy nature of God does not facilitate cohabitation with sin the purity is absolute like the depiction is Isaiah.

The commentary if you had a chance to read over mentioned the cleansing burning coal, so hot that the seraphim required tongs to hold yet Isaiah does not respond to burning pain as it was placed on his lips, as we would perceive such an outcome. The gnashing of teeth we perceive as intense pain, but again this may be intense anger and anguish neither would be desirable. Again we cannot know for sure the exact state the unbeliever will face in hell but Jesus was clear and used harsh descriptive language.

In the OT, God waiting for over four hundred years to judge the Canaanites with their child sacrifices and worshiping Baal. God used the Israelites to dish out judgement, the rebellious Israelites later were then judged twice themselves not long after and taken into captivity. Daniel was innocent but swept up into the judgement sent by God on the Isrealites as a nation and sent to Babylon. Even though he may have been personally innocent but included in the judgement, the innocent will not be swept into hell as this is the eternal judgement.

Hell for most Christians I find is such a minor topic of discussion it seems that those outside of the church hold more interest in this than we do. In our everyday lives I don't think it comes into conscious thought, there is so much richness and spiritual wealth within the body of Christ that this fills the cerebral cortex more than judgement day.

For the unbeliever universalism might hold a get off the hook hope but the orthodox view doesn't share this expectation of scripture.
