    let's not disparage the protestors' rights to protest because they disagree with you.

    They have a democratic right to protest, so let them.
    The police will deal with it in time and things will get on.


    I am amazed at how quickly people are willing to compromise democratic principles when others disagree with them all on the premise that it's the "others" who are being unreasonable.

    750K..that's cheap to ensure an ongoing and vibrant democracy (though the UK falls short in many ways).

    Egypt is paying in blood to develop their democracy.
    We in developed countries take these things for granted.

    Let them protest. It will take a little longer, but open debate, dissent and civil disobedience is a good thing IMO.

    All worth it in the end as shale will have seen off the critics and won on its merits.
