So you would be happy for your own children/grandchildren to be working 70 hours a week and not attending school?? Thank goodness we live in a country where hard fought for working conditions do not allow this here.
It's a shame the same cannot be said for some of our companies sourcing from offshore however. If wages were high enough then families wouldn't need to force their children into labour.
I'm sure the majority of people would be happy to pay $1 more for a garment if they knew it had been ethically produced. I think it should be mandatory that anything sold here be ethically produced right down the supply chain & labeling to prove this.
Once the word gets out re which companies are involved in child labour then consumers will force them to lift their game by not buying from them. Individuals can make a difference. I'm going to write to some of these companies and the government. Those companies who do not change I will spread the word via social media etc to avoid buying from these.
