Key points:

1) Kenya will start shipping oil in 2016, becoming the first oil exporter in East Africa

2) Kenya’s deposits may top 10 billion barrels - more than three times the U.K.’s remaining reserves.

3) Tullow and partner Africa Oil Corp plan to spend at least a year exploring for further deposits. They have two drilling rigs in Kenya and expect to secure one more later this year.

4) The Kenyan government wants things to go faster.
