kakozhi (summary)

I have tried to put together what I have found with regard to Kakozhi (former Mutoya) in the last 18 months or so.

As I understand currently no scout drillings in this area (obviously BTR is focussing on Kitumba, PFS and so on). No news from Kakozhi since 6th May 2013.

Nevertheless...maybe worthwile to read to get a feeling of what we are talking here:

At Mutoya, ‘scout’ drilling of a geophysical target has been completed ahead of the annual wet season with some encouraging initial results.
The following drilled thickness intersections were identified showing
mineralisation at shallow depths MUSH-003 (inclined hole)
- 39m at 0.44% Cu between 59m and 98m,
- 3m at 0.36% Cu between 106m and 109m,
- 37m at 0.46% Cu between 114m and 151m,
-4m at 0.71% Cu between 214m and 218 meters
Mutoya ‘Scout’ Drilling Target Area:
The Mutoya target area is located approximately 6km northwest from Kitumba in an area previously untested by drilling. The anomaly is situated at the intersection of major fault structures, similar to Kitumba and is associated with a gravity high anomaly. There is an observed zonation of alteration mineral assemblages between the ‘scout’ drill holes which are indicative of the proximity to high/low temperature parts of an IOCG system. These indications are being evaluated to assess the best areas for follow-up work.

Geological Observations

The observed mineralisation in MUSH-003 is secondary in nature and construed to be derived from deep weathering, leaching and possible secondary remobilisation of primary
mineralisation associated with nearby intrusive breccias. This concept is supported by the lack of iron rich hematitic breccias beneath the altered and mineralised rock units in MUSH-001 and MUSH-003, and their absence in MUSH-002.It is particularly encouraging to observe copper mineralisation in MUSH-003 at shallow depths (<150m) and this further heightens the potential prospectivity of the Mutoya area. It is apparent that there may be 2 types of mineralised IOCG targets including:
1. the presence of a possible chalcocite supergene blanket in the vicinity of drill holes
MUSH-001 and MUSH-003, and
2. a primary mineralised IOCG hematitic breccias situated at depth and/or adjacent to
or within the major fault system.

16. August 2012 Kakozhi
At the Kakozhi high-priority satellite target, drilling is focused on testing a coincident soil geochemical and airborne gravity anomaly. The first two holes in the planned drill program have been designed to gain the best stratigraphic coverage and are centred on the gravity
and soil copper geochemical anomalies.
The FY2013 exploration budget and drill design pattern for Mumbwa is currently being finalised and is expected to be announced in September 2012.

Diamond cored exploration drilling status:
Drilling, recently restarted at Kitumba and on the Kakozhi prospect, has continued to make good progress. To date approximately 5,000m has been drilled with five holes
completed at Kitumba and two holes completed at Kakozhi.
Three rigs are operating (two on Kitumba and one on Kakozhi) with a fourth rig having arrived on site and scheduled to start drilling early September.
The two Kakozhi holes KAKDD_001 and KAKDD_002 were drilled to test a copper soil geochemical anomaly and gravity anomaly, as well as to follow up on promising copper
mineralisation intersected in MUSH001/MUSH003 in the Phase 5 drilling program. Both holes intersected metasediments, primarily dolomite, which are variably iron and
manganese altered in their upper parts. Handheld XRF readings indicate anomalous copper associated with this alteration. Minor pyrite and subordinate chalcopyrite are
observed in both holes.
Kakozhi
At the Kakozhi satellite target (Figure 8), drilling is focused on testing a coincident soil geochemical and airborne gravity anomaly. Two holes have been completed and were targeted on the gravity and soil copper geochemical anomalies

ASSAYS FROM THE FIRST TWO KAKOZHI HOLES CONFIRM A
SEPARATE MINERALISED SYSTEM AT THE MUMBWA PROJECT
KEY POINTS
Assays have been received for drill holes KAKDD_001, KAKDD_002 and KITDD_003.
The following best copper intersections were identified:
KAKDD_001 (azimuth 270. Dip -70, EOH 614m)
- 202.54m at 0.35% Cu from 15.9m to 218.44m, including
- 31.55m at 0.42% Cu from 147m to 178.55m
- 8.56m at 0.78% Cu from 185.44m to 194m.
KITDD_003 (azimuth 270, dip -85, EOH 602.65m)
-4m at 0.71% Cu from 376m to 380m.
-Four drill rigs operating on site have completed 13 holes for approximately 8076m.

mineralisation evident at Kakozhi, we look forward to carrying out further work on this prospect in the future.
Our main focus and priority will remain completing the current drilling phase and progressing Kitumba through the project pipeline. However, we are greatly encouraged that there are other interesting prospects at Mumbwa that are yet to be assessed

Kakozhi
KAKDD_003 (dip -70, azimuth 045, EOH 664.9m)
- 24m at 0.37% Cu from 14m to 38m
- 32m at 0.76% Cu from 418m to 450m.
KAKDD_003 was drilled on an azimuth of 045, dipping 70 degrees to a depth of 664.9 meters. This hole was designed to test a coincident gravity anomaly and soil copper
geochemical anomaly at the Kakozhi prospect. The hole also drilled towards an interpreted contact with the mineralised syenite and breccia drilled in MUSH-003 (39m at
0.44% Cu between 59m and 98m, 37m at 0.46% Cu between 114m and 151m and 4m at 0.71% Cu between 214m and 218 m) reported to the market in January 2012, the previous best result in the area. The hole failed to reach the contact, however increasing alteration intensity with depth is interpreted to mean the hole was getting closer.
As reported previously, the holes drilled at Kakozhi, (KAKDD_001 and KAKDD_002) and now KAKDD_003, confirm another mineralised system at the Mumbwa project and display a replacement style of mineralisation. These latest results along with the mineralisation drilled in MUSH-003 and hosted in syenites require further follow up.
