Yes, I'm skeptical myself...even I don't think Bashar is that stupid - although I don't think he's particularly smart either. I'm increasingly of the view that it was staged by the 'rebels'. It's well known that Bashar has been re-positioning some of his chemical arsenal from time to time to keep them out of rebel hands. My theory is that perhaps one shipment, or storage location, did fall into rebel hands...He's kept it quiet until now - knowing the Israelis would be furious and likely to take out all his chemical toys they can locate. But with this fake government attack on rebel territory....(if that is what it was - and not something a dumb Syrian officer pulled off - also quite possible)...the cat is out of the bag. I would expect the Israelis and the US to respond on confirmation. Israel would be extremely worried about Hezbollah, or Palestinians, getting their hands on chemicals...if the rebels have grabbed some - that scenario is likely only a matter of time. And if used on Israel you can imagine what the response would be. They would respond to an imminent existential threat - by extinguishment....lights out, hatches closed.
