Woodside commence Mauritanian fluid sampling
Woodside Petroleum today reported that its Stena Tay’ rig, located in the Chinguetti Oil Field off the Mauritanian coast, drilled the Labeidna-1, exploration well to the final total depth of 3080 metres where the acquisition of wireline logs, including downhole pressure measurements and fluid sampling, commenced.
In the afternoon shares picked up 65c to $32.25.
In Energy, Woodside was one of the day’s standout performers, with shares rising 2% on news that the Aussie explorer would finally commence Mauritanian fluid sampling.
Not to be outdone, Caltex, Oil Search and Santos climbed 0.9% apiece, while coal miner Centennial Coal rallied almost 4% in the wake of this morning’s AGM before coming back to a more modest 1.6% increase.

AMP , TLS , PAS , ION ? how can the spin for WPL be positive yet negative for HDR.
Something very odd is happening here ??
