Leaving aside the false idea that it's a political manoeuvre, why can some one not change his mind if the facts change? If you previously believed that homosexuality is a lifestyle choice but the science says that sexual orientation is chosen for you by nature, do you believe the right thing to do is stick to your views as the facts change?
