    Not a bad little argument you guys have going on here.

    On Syria I think both sides have it wrong as to what the actual motivations are; ie: its not an evil US conspiracy and its also not really about protecting human rights. At this stage of the game given Obama's comments he needs to take action. You also have the influence of the Saudi, Qataris, Turks and Russians.Nat Gas, OPEC, Sunni, Shite, etc.

    I don't know much about Vietnam, etc. But its pretty useless comparing something to something else when the situations are different. Syria isn't Vietnam, Syria also isn't Iraq. Hell Syria isn't a banana producer in the early 1900s.


    In general Australia needs to stand with America, even if we follow them to wars we don't like. Unfortunately it's the price we must pay to keep trade open and potential enemies at bay.
