Being in this stock is a bit like playing two-up at the moment. It's a fight between the shorts and longs. Over the last week we have had seven directors buy decent parcels of shares and on the short side, in the week to August 30, Boart has had more short selling than any other stock on the ASX.

Boart is also very close to being in the top six heaviest shorted stocks on the ASX.

Commodities have been weaker over the last fortnight but on the positive side Ausdrill and NRW have both doubled from their lows and most of the other similar stocks like Emeco have recoved strongly. Boart is around 19% from its low point of 42c and has recovered less than all of its peers.

I am certainly on the long side but it is a dangerous game for both sides.
