Simplest thing is to view a chart I think.

Ergo .........

Obviously the spike came and went, but the difference is obvious and classical imo.

THe 80's thing was done on a parabolic spike .... quickly up, and then quickly back.

The chart shows, this time, a very big 'cup and saucer' formation.

Depth of the cup approximates the height of the rise, and it's going to come on a base that has been building for at least 9 years. Therefore, highly unlikely to be a 1 day/week/month wonder.
