What you and the rest of the posters that continually go on about shorts have to realise is "what is if anything is on the other side of the trade"
EXAMPLE ONLY, short LYC long BHP. The investor holding that position does not care if LYC goes up, down or stays the same, the only thing of relevance is that BHP goes up more or down less than LYC.
Change BHP to what ever you like a commodity price, currency market etc.
