Thing is there miles, your scenario re how this plays out in the end is based on many, many assumptions. Many of which may not bear out.
But the fact that Saddam was in power, would have remained in power and would have remained a scourge to his people is NOT an assumption
Simply on that basis your arguements fail.
That and they are wrong.
