I'm aware of Rupert Murdoch having been a partisan in every election since 1972. Sometimes Labor, sometimes Liberal.
His newspapers and political support are part of the Australian political landscape. As I remember, he supported Labor in 2007.
I've voted Labor most of the time in my life. I voted Libs in 2010 and 2013, because of the turn that Labor had taken.
I think this last election was the nastiest since 1975.
More than one friendship of long standing has ended because I wasn't supportive of Gillard/ Rudd labor and one friend of 20 years standing actually physically attacked me last week -(he was drunk at the time).
This is the mentality that kills opponents rather than debates them.
Labor at present seems to be anti-democratic. The voters got it wrong because of Murdoch, Murdoch, Murdoch and Tony Abbot's victory is somehow illegitimate.
I'm sickened at present with politics, but sure am glad that the Libs won.
