Political hopeful Clive Palmer has demanded a new election in the Sunshine Coast seat of Fairfax after accusing the Australian Electoral Commission of tampering with votes.
The mining magnate turned politician says he's sought a court injunction to uphold the integrity of the counting process while his gripe is being looked at.
He was 203 votes ahead in the seat on Monday afternoon.
Mr Palmer says he has received confirmation of a 768-vote discrepancy between lower and upper house ballot papers at the Coolum booth.
"What a farce," Mr Palmer said in a statement.
"Although I hold a slender lead in Fairfax at this time, the best thing to do in the name of democracy would be to suspend counting and call a fresh election under the tightest possible scrutiny.
"What we are seeing unfolding in Fairfax is a rigged election.
"The ballots have no security and the AEC is a national disgrace that needs to be held accountable."
Mr Palmer has been highly critical of the AEC since polling day, demanding an overhaul of the voting process.
He's also claimed pre-poll and postal votes were favouring his Liberal National Party (LNP) rival Ted O'Brien by an "implausibly large ratio".
"Massive evidence is mounting to suggest tampering," Mr Palmer said.
Comment is being sought from the AEC.
