Seems that one has to be employed or self employed to qualify for "work related expenses" and also have an occupation that is in their list.

if you are self-employed your deductions go in the business section
This may be OK for many but in the case of retired or not employed persons who earn an income from investments one cannot complete the page for the "work related expenses"
if you earn DIVIDEND & interest income from investments, your deductions fall under 'dividend & interest deductions'
