I was having a little fun. However, as you raise the issue it was not just the last generation. In a few hundred AD both the Angles and the Saxons invaded Britain at different times (hence the Brits being Anglo Saxons) and not to mention the Prussians of course who were taking up arms a century or more ago so they do have a bit of history. Perhaps that's were the Brits and their offspring (USA/Australia) got it from in the first place.
