Sid Wilson (Board Member)

Mr Sid Wilson has been a Board Member of the Regional Development Australia Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula Board since October 2011 and served as a Board Member from amalgamation in 2009 until 2010. Mr Wilson has over 42 years experience in Engineering and Senior Management at the Whyalla Steelworks. During his employment with OneSteel and BHP he worked in a number of different roles, including Manager - Blast Furnace Asset Development (2002-07), Manager of Engineering (1995-2002), Service Shop Manager (1994-95), Chief Engineer Primary (1991-94) and Chief Maintenance Engineer (1988-91). Sid is an active member of the Whyalla community with a strong interest in social inclusion, regional development and industry. He is an active member of the Whyalla community and has been involved in various community groups such as the Alternative Ports Working Group and was a previous member of the Flinders Region Area Consultative Committee. In 2012 he was awarded with the Whyalla Australia day Community Service Award for his continued commitment to the City.
