This is where many Biotechs fail - they don't understand the importance that PR (or lack of) has on their success/failure.
Most CEOs or Directors (of Biotechs) that I have either met or read about:
- are too scared to feed info to the public for fear of breaking ASIC regulations
- would rather wait for their results to do the talking
- don't understand that they are allowed to repeat good news, as long as it is not classified as a Press Release and is delivered through relevant channels.
Working the media properly is often the difference between a company struggling to attract investors and one that is a market darling.
I recall reading about one locally listed company in a 2 or 3 page spread in an inflight magazine some years back. It was a great story. That story undoubtedly reached many potential investors and was a great launch pad for the value of the stock - if I would have invested at the time I read the article, I could have sold out within months and made at least 300% on my money.
Come on ACL - there are many journos and specialist outlets that would run a nice story on the company, especially at this pivotal point in time...and with such publicity, momentum keeps things going...let's start selling the Sizzle and not just the Steak.
ACL is sizzling now and we don't necessarily need to wait for the Steak to be cooked to build excitement.
