If you bought it in the States as jewellery then how much would you be able to sell it for in the states. If its like jewellery in Australia then you'd probably get around a half to a third of its price and if its impure you be hard pressed to get a sale in Australia. A lot of the jewellery in Asia and India is made specifically to change GOLD Bullion into plain GOLD chains without any aesthetic qualities being added, and that's what makes jewellery in Australia and the States expensive. Having GOLD in jewellery avoids confiscation laws.
Buying Jewellery in Australia is a dead loss unless you buy something like old estate jewellery or just straight Diamonds.
