Joe Hockey sees price rises as an opportunity for developers and state governments to increase the supply by moving forward on projects that were previously marginal.
What he's trying to say is the government wipes its hands of the housing affordability issue. The only way you'll get housing cheaper than it is today is if the whole market tanks. And then you'll have to pay for some of it anyway as the banks are insured by the taxpayer.
