We've seen this kind of talk before. There were massive gains made about 2 1/2 to 3 years ago when there were similar fears of shortages and China holding back supply. Prices for baskets of rare earths sky rocketed.

Shares prices of rare earth miners LYC, ARU, ALK, NTU, PEK etc all boomed. In fact there was a time when even the mention of rare earths in a drilling report could cause 100% or more jumps in prices for junior minors. The boom proved to be short lived and prices subsequently subsided.

Let's see if we get some sort of similar run again. We have a couple of non-Chinese producers now Linus and Molycorp but neither exactly running smoothly. No doubt the need for rare earths only seems to be on the increase in the future.
