I was told by my broker that if you buy a stock today and sell it tomorrow the same procedure takes place as if you buy and sell on the same day. ie any gain or loss is either credited or deducted from your account.
This way you dont have to come up with the total purchase amount. I know some brokers that even even let you trade with more funds than what is available in the account. So this could be another reason why people buy and sell within certain time frames....
So anyone who bought NEN yesterday could have sold today with out having to stump up the total purchase amount. The purchase and the sell settle against each other.
