I believe it is in the best interests of the nation for Abbott to appoint a diplomat within his Party to engage Labor in meaningful discussions to implement real reform of the Senate.
The voting system can be changed by a simple amendment to the Electoral Act.
It is in the interests of the Coalition, Labor and I believe the nation, to reform the proportional voting system in the Senate to rid the country of Senators who represent hardly anyone.
Both major Parties would benefit - let's see if they have the vision to stop us going down the path of so many countries whose democracies are hampered by the influence of fringe dwellers.
