Research has stated that InGaN solar cells could produce efficiencies of more than 50% which would be a major breakthrough in solar cell efficiency far exceeding what is available today
Other than this statement I could not find a single metric, and even the above leaves me asking, what is available today that BLG is far exceeding.
Is it too much to ask for some hard numbers on performance.
On commercialisation, the "environmental" benefits is something that could be quantified. I have no idea if this is a huge expense to this industry or just a we are good corporate citzens type comment,
I just never ever get anything that remotely looks like a measuring stick, comparison of a target, either technically or financially.
In any company or institution I worked in there were Key Performance Indicators. Surely there must be otherwise how does BLG ever decide where to concentrate expenditure and effort. Achieving industry standard purity doesn't mean a whole lot if that standard is simply a must have entry card - meaning it only lets you sit at the table, and BLG can't technically get say two orders of magnitude better and such a possibility gives some measurable performance increase, maybe they can't and it doesn't.
BLG still seems to have boffin culture to me.
I'd like to see them succeed but there seems to be a "trust us its all too complicated for average punter" attitude.
