Lol! The fractures are where the oil is coming from - it's a fractured reservoir, there is no other "good pay zone." The matrix permeability is negligible (hence why HW-2) didn't flow).

So not going to work, I'm afraid. They WANT the fractures open - in fact they need them!

Plus this well was planned to be P&A anyway wasn't it?

I don't know what production completion they will use for future development wells in the structure but I don't think it will be cement-and-perf anyway.
