As your computer is starting up, immediately before windows tries to take effect, you need to access your BIOS.

To do this will depend from PC to PC but there will be a message that comes up quickly, before Windows launches, that says to access BIOS press.....

From memory my one is F5 but it could be F8, F10, DEL.....etc

Just watch out for it. It will come up quickly after turning computer on.

Once you are into the BIOS menu don't touch anything just yet. Look for an instruction that says 'Reset Default Settings'. It will be at the top or bottom of your screen and will tell you what key to press to reset default settings.

Press the key and then exit (there will be an exit key stated) but make sure you save the changes you have made which you will be prompted to do upon exiting (the change being reset default settings).

Now your computer should boot up into windows. If not then turn it off for five minutes and try again.

Once it boots into windows go into control panel, click on system from the menu and click on system restore.

You will be asked to restore you r system to a previous date. Choose one prior to your problems occurring and proceed. No information that you have saved since that date will be lost.

Once restored then run your antivirus, defragmentation and system clean up just as a precaution to purge the system.

Note, if the system restore from Bios does not get you back into windows to perform the rest then I don't know what to do other than take your computer to someone who does.

After doing this myself for years I have learned that this method solves most of the basic issues. Windows is complex and flawed and little issues can result in breakdowns but generally a return to factory settings will bypass the problem and give you the chance to reconfigure.

Hope this helps. Saves me $79 eveytime my PC has a sulk
